Haha I actually remembered the username and password for this account! *looks like it hasn't changed in five years

Well, um, I guess most of you won't know who I am (if you guys still come to this blog, that is). Only Fann knows me and I think she can't really remember who I am in any case. Haha. *Please say you still remember me, Fann!* Chris and Shuxin, Claire and Amanda (if you know them) probably remember me more because I've been with them for a longer period of time. :)

My name is Audrey, and I'm from the class that graduated from SCGS in 2007, so I was in SCBand from 2004 to 2007, a time when Mr. Yap was still our conductor and before Mr Brando Tan took over. Ancient, aren't I? Haha.

Well, hope you guys are having fun in band, though it's probably quite different from the time I was in it. I just sort of finished my band-ing life, after graduating from JC and all. Hope you guys are passionate to take up band again after you leave SCGS and go on to JC. JC band life is really, really fun! And I mean it. :)

I guess that's about all I have to say. You guys continue to play hard and study hard and enjoy your time in SC, ya! All the best for your exams, and good luck for O Levels, Fann!

Danza Sinfonica - AU Symphonic Band

Well, i found the recording for danza sinfonica. this is the hardest piece in our fiesta repetoire. yep. the horns parts are quite nice. haha. the front part is a little soft though.

(for those who have played beautiful oregon, you might find that danza is of a similar style, because they are composed by the same person - james barnes)

ohohoh and here's the version of die fledermaus that i played. there are some sections that are similar to yours (i think mine is transposed from the original orchestra score or smthng)

hello. This is my first time blogging here.
I'm told to blog about the section outing yesterday for Fann's birthday. (:
Fann, please don't kill me for whatever i write here. Cause they're facts.
So we were at sakae yest. Just chris, shuxin, fann and I.
cause kai had stomach flu and shuqing had some personal matter, so they didn't go.

So we were all eating halfway, then Fann said this
"I think the guy saw me staring at him!"
Then the three of us immediately said
"Where? Who?"
Hahaha! Apparently, he was a ACJC waterpolo boy.
And we called him bumblebee! cause Fann said he looked like a BEE.
Then when his whole group of friends left.
we were trying to see who is the BEE.
And there were two guys wearing the acjc jacket.
So we were like "the one with specs or not?"

Hahaha, section outing was so fun! (:

anws, good to see you guys after such a long long time. and i just realised that i'm one generation older now, after handover yesterday. claire, amanda and diana, you can join me at the senior citizen corner after this. hahah.

ate brunch,then went vivo

had breakfast,then sectionals and combined for 1 hour.
after lunch was games and section bonding
section bonding was spent trying to find kaijun's phone lol
spring cleaning was fun:D

firstly, im really sorry about the blog as it is now. while trying to fix the tagboard, i accidentally deleted the post column of the blog, and so to replace it, it is currently some unsightly non-scrolling thingey. for now, it's like this, unless someone fixes it (which is almost impossible for the blog-unsavvy person like yours truly)

secondly, everyone seems very proactive now. hmm, good work, fann and shuxin! where's the rest of the section??? and i hope you people will keep this blog alive (= if it dies, revive it.

well, i guess its time for me to get straight to the point.

i never thought that today will come, and after sending off 3 years' worth of seniors, i'm officially band-aged (gosh, what have i been doing this past four years?). in any case, thank you thank you thank you, my dear french hornies, for making my time in scgsband so unforgettably enjoyable. i will always remember all the weird stuff we do, whispering into each other's ears instead of speaking out loud, telling horrendously lame jokes (courtesy of amanda), being harrased by stray dragonflies, and section bonding time spend either having lengthy convos and storytelling about the sims 2 (thats for amanda) or at the swings, and especially, never making up our minds as to where to eat. well, i guess indecisiveness makes our section unique, but it might not be a good thing, so yea, please work on that.

i know you people worked very very hard for syf, and i apologise for not being able to conduct sectionals as well as i wanted to. but in any case, thank you for coorporating with me during sectionals (be it brass or normal sectionals in rachel's absence). and although we didnt get a gold this syf, i know you guys played your best (you ppl probably played your hearts out on that stage), and im extremely proud of you for improving so much within such a short period of time.

to amanda, shuxin and chris, always remember to give claire all the support she needs - she can't run the entire section by herself, you guys have to coorporate and give her your full attention, esp during sectionals. also remember to take good care of fann and dyana. groom them and their playing skills, and always be patient with them.

to dyana and fann, i sincerely apologise for not getting to know you better, as our interaction times were very few and brief. i'll try to come back as and when i can, and perhaps during section bonding in band camp. listen to your seniors, and always put in your best effort to learn. hopefully, by improving your playing skills, you'll develop an unextinguishable passion for music.

and to all of you, love your music, love your horn.

well, that's all i have to say. remember that i'll always be there to support you guys, and that i love you to bits. keep the section rocking!

hey people!

its my first time blogging here too! we shall all begin blogging in this horn blog =)

today was a a sad day for all of us, rachel and audrey is gonna leave... sigh=( but we had a nice and FULL "lunch" at nydc where we always have our meals there on whatever occasion=) it was very funny over there when rachel and audrey were wondering what the other five of us are doing under the table while eating lunch! haha... okay...rachel and amanda wanted to have dessert and rachel was trying to convince and "persuade" us to eat but in the end, me and chris decided not to eat. when it came, the five of them started playing with the ice-cream thing haha... i was amazed =) haha.... its time to pay the bill, everybody had to dig out their money to pay and i realised that i lost 5 bucks so i was penniless after paying... sigh... my savings are gone![but it was worth it]=)

anyways... i would just like to thank rachel and audrey for your guidance throughout this 2 years... thanks for everything! i will try to post a bit more often from now haha... dun let it die!=)okay gtg... tata!

well, it was a tremendous success, despite all the screw-y rehearsals and run throughs. and the kedah band was AWESOME! (aspires to be like them). recognised faces from last year, and everyone wanted to know where meiying was (haha meiying, you're a celebrity) (: in any case, we did forge new friendships as well as strenghtening old ones. yep. really enjoyed myself. hope all performers and audience did too.

on a more sombre note, this is the sec4s' last concert with the band.

but anyhow, the band room smelled like a flower shop after the entire show. haha. FLOWERS! (:

the weekly post!

today is apparently secretaries' day. yep, that is, according to the calendar on my table (i have no idea where it came from). but in any case, HAPPY SECRETARIES' DAY RACH!

scgs did extremely well for syf this year. choir and chinese dance got their gold, and drama and handbells clinched their honours. and international dance is most likely to come back with their GWHs too.

band still rocks, no matter what. like i said, we all did well. the entire performing arts did well.

wonder if we get a day off again? hmm...

well, a lot has happened last week. time for an update.

had our last band prac before syf. i guess that was the peak of our abilities, and it was hard to believe that after six months of pure hard work, everything ends tomorrow. ok, not everything, but our preparation and journey with night safari and madrigalum, though i think this wont be the last time we'll be playing them. at least i hope not.
sat down at our new sectional spot, and rach read out diana's letter (which wasn't three pages long, thankfully) and passed us her own letters in nice red envelopes.
went for section dinner at nydc (ah, that brings back fond memories) on rach's treat. wanted dessert, but ran out of digestive space. haha.
wondered how many of us didn't spend hours rolling and tossing in bed before really sleeping that night.

Wednesday, April 11, 2007
the finishing line to our long race is finally in view.
left class during recess to go set up instruments. had a catered lunch, teachers' treat, at the canteen, which most of us didnt finish. changed into band u and had uniform check (and everyone staring agastly at the gel with aloe vera extract. haha). tuned and played for an hour before boarding the bus.
frankly, i was quite afraid of the solos then.
reached sch before 4pm and we began our long wait. spotted this guy from pres high who was unknowingly stepping on some warm-up rhythmics score. wanted to tell him, but in the end his conductor did the job for us.
and i realised that pres high was the only band besides us who played safari for the afternoon session.
pres high went in, we were left just outside the perf hall. this was when steady amanda gave way with a "I'm scared." and we went around telling ppl we loved them and that they rocked. haha.
pres high was out, we went in, confident and ready.
we played. everything went off in a blast. and i was smiling so widely when the soloists all came in and played well that i swear the judges probably though i was crazy. but really, it felt so reassuring.
stood up, bowed, left the stage. our race was over. now begun the wait.
that half an hour seemed like eons (there must have been another communication breakdown), even though we waited 4 hrs the last time. was quite worried when we heard that most of the bands were bronze and anderson got silver.

*clutched chris' hand really tightly*
the euphoria didnt really sink in until we realised that there were no gold bands and only three silvers, and we knew we were the better band, despite the initial disappointment. some were really inconsolable, but hey, we made it, and that's all that mattered.
went back to school, people had stuff to say, packed up, went home.
so ends our long quest to make madrigalum madrigal. and we did it.

TODAY
had band lunch, on the conductors' treat for our hard work and effort. mingled in with the recruits. went back to the buffet table fore more eclairs and realised that there were none left. rach requested for more peach. and i disappeared halfway to go help the recruits tailor their uniforms.
apparently, we were scheduled to have an exchange with tanglin trust school, some ppl to be selected to perform with them in the esplanade. the kedah band is coming down, and some lucky ppl get to go "somewhere far away" in october, sec4s not included. sigh.
in any case, band prac resumes on 31 april. cant wait to play again, and im missing band alr.

i wonder who reads this blog.

firstly, let me get over the fact that audrey and rachel are alr sec4. and claire and amanda alr sec3. well, its just that you ppl were like so cute n stuff when i was still in the band. and its like suddenly you've just grown up or smth. and each time i think of rachel i think of my cute little giggly indecisive tortoise pok who now scolds n screams and threatens to kill ppl alr. lol. no offence. purely harmless comment. and i really think its damn cute n quite funny. its like, u were the juniors back then and now youre the seniors who lead the section, the band. and the 2 tall juniors. haha. ok nvm. i miss you ppl.

and i heard you all play this afternnon over the phone, and the thoughts of 2years ago just came back. how i used to be on that stage with you all as well. and it was nostalgic. but then i know my time is over. i heard the whole announcement of results as well. it was scary when i heard all the bronze and only 2 silvers. but when i heard the silver for you, i was really happy for you ppl, and i know you ppl did your best and tried really hard. and its really good, coz the judges are simply strict like mad this year. and im really very very proud of you.

i know how you started out in november. it was no where even near a bronze. and i hear a couple of recordings prior to soundcheck. and it wasnt v good either, but you ppl have picked up well. and i do hope that you appreciate each others efforts and have enjoyed yourselves immensely. coz i know, when it was my time, i did. i had the time of my life with the horn section and the band. and thinking about it now, i wish i can relive those moments just another time. all the laughs, all the jokes, all the outings, all the screaming, the lips dying and ABRAMS! haha. and now tt audrey mentions, stuck valves and slides. and gel.

oh well, i really hope you all got the most out of this experience and take the lessons with you. be it for the next syf, or just for in your life next time. maybe you think you havent learnt anth. but i think, subconsciously, all of you have taken alot out of this journey.

and i hope that you all continue to stick together as a section even after people start leaving one by one. or 2 by 2. coz i hope, maybe in 5 years time when we have a gathering or smth, we can all still go and still be able to talk to each other n stuff. haha ok i sound rather futuristiv, but yea. and CHRIS SHUXIN AMANDA CLAIRE can you come and visit this blog and blog in it. haha

yea anw, well done and congrats! =) what really matters is the experience and the journey and giving your best as individuals, as a section, as a band, and as long as u feel good, feel happy playing tgt, happy just by having your friends around, you've reached your goal. and all of you have hearts and spirits of gold, and you're more than gold in my eyes. more valuable, better than that. you're the scgsband french horn section and the scgs band, and that beats any gold with honours. nothing can ever replace. im very proud of you.

well, it has been a long day.

11 april 2007, 4:45pm. another day to be remembered.

six months worth of hardwork, sweat, saliva, tears. it was worth it.

we came from nothing to what we are today.

those fifteen minutes on stage was the finishing line of our long race.

and we finished it gracefully. proudly. madrigally.

we played with no reserves, and we left with no regrets.

i think that's the greatest thing.

special thanks to rach, for scolding and screaming at us, because she always believed in us. for pushing us from nothingness to greatness. for motivating us to do our personal best, because she had faith in us.

i havent felt this sense of euphoria since two years ago, and im glad that it came back today. madrigalum has finally been made madrigal.

scband, you will always be a gold band to me.

hello my dearest hornies.

It's only a day and a few hours to what all of you have been looking forward to and working towards.... You know, the outcome isnt as important as the process. As long as you do your best, enjoy what youre playing and just relax, you wont regret.
I'm sure all of you dont wanna let all your efforts go down the drain after enduring all the scoldings and practices etc... These months of hard work just for those few minutes on stage.

Whatever had to be done has been done and whatever happens, happens. Play like youve never done before. You all have the potential to shine and i know you can. So just put your best foot forward and do it for the band, the section and yourselves.

No matter what, we've come this far and i am and will always be proud of you.

since no one else is blogging, i shall update.

had the long awaited soundcheck at SCH today, and im quite glad that we got this slot. the general sound of the band was very boomy (i have absolutely no idea why its like this) but i anticipate that it won't be that bad on the actual day, considering that the hall won't be empty anymore.

i guess we really need to feel comfortable with ourselves, instead of staring at the score the entire time and not look at mr yap. mebbe we should focus more on safari, madrigalum is quite good as of now.

i'm actually quite relieved that jasmine told us that so frankly. at least we know that we can no longer be complacent with our current standard. we have EIGHT more days to go, and i believe it's enough to get us what we want.

had our third last band prac before syf today, and im proud to say that we've ImPrOvEd! haha. yes. madrigalum has gotten its act together, and safari is quite ok besides the occassionally not-tight tempo. yep, we're finally getting closer to our goal.

i guess mr yap sort of said that we're of a gold band standard, playing wise and technical wise, but we have to BELIEVE that we are there. yep, it once again boils down to CONFIDENCE!

anw, tmr's the soundcheck at sch. let's continue this, sprint the final lap, and reach the finishing line.

yes, as per diana's request:

Band Camp 12 Mar 07 - 13 Mar 07
rach wasnt around, so there were only five of us. as with all march hol camps, its was hard work. practice, practice, practice. had sectionals twice a day, each lasting for more than 1 1/2 hours, and band prac for 4 hours.
not that it was boring though. the night activity was quite fun (no one seemed to trust kelly, but im sure it's just plain old good fun to playfully oppose her and not anything seriously troubling), and we had section bonding... with the swing. and amanda seemed to have found a new friend in the bird in some bush near our new sectional area, communicating with it during sectionals (tweet tweet).
and it was quite amusing that all our meals smelled the same (except for breakfast, that is). we thought our first lunch was chicken rice, but it turned out to be chicken with rice and some veg. haha.

Band Exchange @ SJI 15 Mar 07
rach was around this time (thankfully) and meiying too. yep, anw, we were the last band to perform because mr yap could only reach sji at 3pm (he came at 2.50pm in the end). the sji ppl were quite nice... after the first four bands performed, they let us go for refreshments first while we waited for mr yap.
playing wise, we could have done a lot better. i guess most of us were very inexperienced, so we lacked in showmanship. it boils down to one thing again: CONFIDENCE. it happened at the last syf too, like at the acs(i) exchange (ms ng said that we looked like scared rabbits). but im sure we can show that confidence soon.. just like the last time. we'll walk up stage with our heads held high.
and i realised that our syf choice pieces for the past two years have been very unique and different from other bands. the standard pieces normally include a fast start, a slow middle and a fast ending. madrigalum sounded more like a dance and everything was moderately fast, yet it wasnt out of character for a dance.. its seems that the fast has been interwoven with the slow (if you get what i mean). and abrams took everyone by surprise: our "slow middle section" wasnt really slow either. in any case, im actually quite glad that we chose madrigalum this year, and if we work hard enough and get the technical stuff and the mood right, it will be like abrams, uniquely refreshing, and the audience will enjoy it.
we left sji quite quickly, and amanda was upset that we didnt make any new friends.

yep, thats all for my update. syf is approximately in a month's time (the teachers are balloting next week i think).

hey people.

i just realised that this blog has been collection cobwebs since more than a month ago. time to update.

today's friday (but it won't be anymore in 30 mins time) which is the end of the week and end of term one. march hols are here.

btw, for seniors reading this, there's a band camp on mon (12/3) and tues (13/3) with one night in school. rach won't be around so it'll just be the five of us.

and we're having a band exchange at st joseph's institution with RI, Nanyang, Cresent and SJI bands on thurs at 12.30pm, yep.

heyys.

oh my goodness, this whole blog is like filled with cobwebs la! hahahahahahahaha. like a few million years passed and no one posted anything. i even received an email saying that the tagboard hasn't been used and is gonna expire soon. my blog's one too haha... luckily i checked my mail otherwise the tagboard which is like 2 years old will be gone gone goneeeeeee!! sad isn't it?

okok. i was just being super high, cuz there's only one week of o's left! can't wait, can't wait, can't wait. ((((: yippppy!! but i still can't believe, i more than half way through o's already! wooooots. but then again, i don't wanna finish o's. then i won't be an sc girl anymore. sadness. but still have to move on so i shall be happy! oh and guess what, i realised i haven't come online to slack for a super duuuuper long time cuz i have 416 and counting unread emails. hahahaha. i'm so proud of myself. heh.

orh horr rachhhh... haven't finish studying yet ah? and when was that? how many days before your papers? hahaha just kidding. anyway, its only sec 3! haha. just mug harder in sec 4, no problem for you. (: actually come to think of it, i din finish my syllabus in sec 3 before my finals as well! ooppps. heh. aye. haven't talked to you for a loooong time. anyway, how did you do for your finals? shouldn't be that bad right? haha yup. and the rest of the section too. i hope they din slack and studied hard for their finals. (: oh yes... which combination did man and air get into? yes, i'm very outdated, i know. haha.

oh yea. how come i never see any of the juniors post or even tag here before? its like still only the 4 of us la! actually, i think this blog bonds our section really well and so we should advertise it more to our section. also, its like our section's specialty. see how many sections have blogs that remain RELATIVELY active even after 2 years? the FRENCH HORN SECTION! YAY! hahaha.

i din know you read my blog, diana. anyway i haven't posted there for a long time too. doing so after o's when i have time and something other than studying to write about. otherwise its really boring. yup. and its super sad right? all the big people left this year, like miss heng, mrs phuah and......

ME! hahaha. just kidding. see how deprived from fun and laughter i am now? heh heh.

okay i better stop slacking. although i only have one week left, but its the worst week of my o's. lit paper 2 on monday, a math paper 1 on tuesday, physics on wednesday, a math paper 2 and chem on thursday (hurhurrrr) and history on friday. all the main subjects. whatever la. but at least better than having bio and geog on the same day. (:

all right, someone update something please. or at least reply to my questions. thanks. now, back to studying. last 8 papers in my secondary school life. i can't believe time disappeared so faaast. okok. i'm going off now.

well well. so how's life for everyone? i'm sure you are all busy mugging so i don't expect anyone to come here until finals are over! cuz if you come here, it means that you are SLACKING! and it isn't a good thing to slack... for finals especially. though this blog isn't updated very often, lets think positively. everyone's studying hard and thus have no time to blog here. haha. i hope this is true and not because everyone is lazy! haha.

well, i can't believe i'm a band-aged. feel so weird calling myself that cuz it feels as if i just joined band last year. so how's band nowadays? plan some fun things for the band so band won't be so boring, okay? that way, everyone will love band. haha. -hinthint to rach- hahaha.

anyway, i hope having a leadership post have not tired you people out yeah? i mean leadership posts. haha. oh yes, audrey, i still have the uniform book with me. and i would suggest that you take stock of how many of each thing you have and then LOAN them out, to the bandits as well as non-bandits. so band earns moneyy. haha. not that i'm being so money minded but its for the band's good! yup. i've been really slack and thus have not recorded ANYTHING in the uniform book. haha. just like nicole. but its all right. you can continue what peace started out with. yupp. i shall be back after o's to help out! oh but that's if i'm needed -.-" just kidding. i'll be back to visit as often as i can and i hope i'm not making empty promises!

yay, GO BAND!

on a heavier note, this year's been a very eventful year. it began with mrs kee stepping down as the cca head, mr ang and mrs chan promoted. the whole prefectorial board changed quite a bit, resulting in a huge change in the school. (that's what i felt). then mrs phuah left in july. sadly. i miss her nice voice and fluent english, and her way of talking to us, not treating us like young kids like you-know-who with a high and irritating voice. haha. there's no name so you can't sue me.. hehx. then miss soh left and miss phang came. hmmm. i shan't elaborate here. hahaa. AND miss heng's leaving us!! all when its my last year in sc. well i count myself fortunate as i won't experience the major change. haha.

miss heng's 61 this year and she rocks as the principal of sc! she's the best principal ever la! cuz she's high i, not high d! so she always explains to us nicely, far better than high d principals. in addition, she knows sc best. being in sc for 38 years, principal for 28 years and in the board of directors, so she is so emotionally attached to sc that she openly broke down infront of the whole school. so cool right? cuz she's so open to us! she said that she breaks down when it mattered sc. or something along that line. see how much she love sc and us? yay!! miss heng rocks!! ((: haha.

the next principal will be a highly experienced one. hmmm. makes me wonder if she's high d! i HOPE not. haha. yeah. but i hope she will continue to bring sc to a greater height. ((: no matter what, feel happy and honoured that you are studying in a building that is build entirely out of prayers, and prayers alone. if only i knew this earlier, i would have treasured sc much much more! ((:

haha long time since i last blogged in here..
as i have promised, i am here to update! (:

okay. first up, holidays are HERE!! HA! HA! this break is so welcoming.. though my first 2 weeks would be gone but still, there's at least some rest. hehx. i shall rest well during the kedah trip and then come back and work hard during the last 2 weeks of holidays. hopefully dramafest won't eat up too much of my time. oh yes. come support dramafest yeah? my class is performing!! (: yup.

haha my dear audrey aka reeeee.. x)
i din say i like obs. i like the things we did there but not overall. cuz my watch somehow wasn't enthu though there were many nice nice people. sighh. the instructor too. kind of gave up on us alr. always late, never taking initiative and blah blahh.. ayeee.. but i think its me. cuz i was really excited about obs as everyone was saying that it is very fun but when i went there, half of the people weren't even interested about it and would rather stay in school to study. sighh. drenched the whole mood. doesn't matter. its over. yupyup.

cher's funny though. haha. din like obs cuz she developed muscles from there and thus her leg grew bigger!! but anyway, just a bit of gossip on my obs instructor... haha during one night, she went away to have an engagement meeting, together with another male instructor.. but then she din wanna admit it. haha. so cute right? yupyup..

oh haha i enjoyed collecting newspapers and tying them up. did i tell you? haha it was so funn.. especially when you see the pained faces of those who donated newspapers to us cuz they had stacks of newspapers by the door but din wanna donate the newspapers cuz they wanna earn money from the karang guni man.. haha you can't say oh i don't have any newspapers to donate when they are eyeing on the stacks of newspapers by the door.. wahaha..i'm such a sadist. yup.

and yay! the holidays are finally here. its much welcomed as i'm gonna die of exhaustion and tiredness of school day. slacked a bit now cuz i need my rest! haha. have been rushing and rushing, trying to meet deadlines for my unfinished worksheets plus tests and tests. sec four life is frantic. like being spinned around lots and lots of times while trying to do 10 different things at a time. rushing against time and blah blah. so never try to do last min work! haha. i've learnt my lesson well. yupyup.

hello peopleeee!!!

how have you people been? its been a long time since i blogged, even my own blog as well. hahas. no time and no chance to blog since my sister uses the computer most of the time.

i have been busy doing the overdue homework too and rushing to meet deadlines, both in band as well as in studies.. yupyup see i procrastinate too much and i have been feeling rather stressed and sickly. haha. i shall be more responsible and do my work quick and fast and efficient and CORRECT... haha made lots of mistakes in a math. like practically everything's wrong. and yes sec 3 work is quite important for sec 4 so rach and audrey ah, don't relax your sec 3 work which i think you all will not since in order to take german in o's right, you have to do extra well.. yup.

haha i feel so slack now but then, i'm gonna work hard! yup. so i won't be spending much time in the band room i hope, so if you all need my help or want to have sectionals, just tell me k.. otherwise i will be spending my time studying. yup. i wanna do well in o's to prove my mom wrong that band does NOT affect my studies so that my sister can join band too cuz she likes band alot. haha. yup

hellow everyone.

just reached home and realised that we haven't blogged abt band events for a very very long time so...

yup, today is the last band prac of 2005 and the third last day of 2005. school's starting on 3 jan.

band prac today... uh... well, we played singapore rhapsody again (at first it was part 2 but it sounded so weird that we decided to go with the original part 1) and it brought back really fond memories of syf. *gosh* dont get me started.

oh, and persis. i tink it's coming together (really slowly) quite nicely. really looking forward to the day we can sound as good as the recording.

and diana came back! yes, welcome back diana! havent seen you in what, a month or so. she was super early lah... came at 9:30am and stayed throughout the entire band prac and went out to eat lunch with us at scotts.

after lunch we came back to do the booth and the candles and notes. *and diana draws such good notes... im so impressed. it's so much better than mine lah* yeah used lots of aluminium foil to make it nice and shiny. and yes i'm quality checker number 1 and amanda is qc no 2 and claire is no 3. ahaha. anyway, our HORN keeps dropping so im gonna bring good string when school reopens to replace the thread. yes and i really like our new game. hehe but it's kinda painful to flick a tealight.

and yes. the farewell. didnt barbecue (ok. we didnt but the other sections did) but ate from the table instead. yes. beehoon, potato salad with macaroni, jelly, otah aka the leaf with something inside, nuggets, sausages and the fruit unpunched special order. and rach had to eat five plates full of food and obediently finished it even though she wasnt present at the bbq. dinner's such a good time to bond and find out how far in the gene pool did the lame gene go (and apparently it went to amanda).

and then, while we were eating our chicken wings we were called to fall in. and we threw down the half eaten stuff and yeah, did the normal stuff. meiyi and mich were getting us to say "we love scband" and do the kallang wave thingey... dont know how successful it is but it was, i have to admit, funny. then the sec4s got their certs and meiyi let diana sort of test us on what we've learnt and err... i dont really have to go into details do i?

and yeah. that's it. we packed the uneaten food and cleared up our eating area and went home.

like amanda told us:
"...i'm dying in a few days time... love,2005"

2005 is ending and 2006 is coming. and it's a year closer to 2007. two big events coming (ok one for me personally and the other for everyone left in the band). arrgghh. remember diana's theory: a.a.a. = b.s.g.

ahhh yes band camp is approaching. but i think the organisation isn't very well done. could have been better. but still. i don't like the idea of the majors knowing everything but not letting us know anything. at least give us an idea of what we are gonna do during the band camp. don't always keep us in the dark. its not healthy. can you imagine if other people ask about it, eg parents, and you have nothing to tell them? haha. its really embarrassing and frustrating. its not as if the band loves secrets so much that what we are gonna do the next band prac is a mystery. haha.

heyys everyone!!

guess what?!?! this is the 100th post and i'm so honoured to write it. hehe.
yeah!! our horn blog managed to reach 100th post within a year. no bad eh!

anyway, just came back from a camp just 2 days ago. went with my family and my dad's friends and children. it was so fun. played throughout the night and got to know more friends better. yup. never got a chance to play together and this camp really brought us all together. so happy to have known them. heehee.

this camping is really camping. includes pitching of tents, sleeping on hard ground. but anyway, since i can't stand the hard ground, so i didn't sleep that night. but it was a pretty good experience. to not sleep for 26 hours outdoors. haha.

at first i really hated the idea of camping cuz it was distracting me from my studies. but i'm glad that it was fun. yupyup. lets go camping one day too.. haha. err.. maybe not camping la. maybe we book a chalet or something in downtown east. should be quite fun. yup

i don't mean to disturb you, diana but you shouldn't be online too.. so i guess you shouldn't be affected.. haha. jia you!!just 13 more days. i think.

im finally here... haiz this is the first time im blogging since the 15 of sept *counts days* tts almost a month ago.. sheesh. tts the longest time i've ever not blogged. oh well.

heyys everyone!!!

THE DAY OF LIBERATION!! WHEEEEEEEE.

haha. finally, this is the first time for who knows how long i have been here and NOT considered slacking..

yay!! all over. its all over. haha. time to enjoy before the results tie me down again. sighh. screwwed up all of the papers. all my aims are like um half way to their journey down the drain according to how i did my exams.

its okie. at least i can relax. for now. i'm not exactly very happy actually cuz i know i won't be doing very well. ayeeeee. should have been more hardworking. shall learn my lesson and study hard for o's next year. yupyup.

BUT,

the question now is,
should i be happy or should i be sad?
that sec 3 is over in a blink of an eye.

why?!?!

i have not yet enjoyed enough of sec 3 life. since the implementation of the 5 day week, every week, its like tests, tests and more tests. there isn't an actual week when i can wake up on a monday morning and not do any last min revision for the test after wards. so you can see that i have not been enjoying my life.. hahas

sighh. why did time fly so fast? this time next year i would be studying for o's. and who knows how fast time would fly again.

i just realised that this entry is very sad though its like after exams.
anyway, i just wanna say, all the best for those whose exams are still not over. mug when you still can now. yup. so after exams, you will be able to experience a higher level of joy. trust me. hahas. otherwise, you will end up like me, not feeling happy even after exams.

had teachers' day celebration in school. mass dance in the early morning followed by a concert. and the band played.. 0k not all of us, only some.. meiying, yiyan, eunice 1, mich, marissa, jasmine ngu, jasmin wong and some others (my memory is failing me) yup. oh and keshi came back!!! had a nice conversation wif her and took a pic! then she went to find the rest of our section in the band room.

missed almost all the periods in school except the last one cos these ppl from kedah came and we had to entertain them. yup, we played centuria, boogey, rainbow and copa. actually it was quite screwed but ppl said it was good. nvm. found that my slides were stuck after weeks of not touching my instru. sigh. yup and then honours day aft school. quite ok. and we got special looking school badges that we can wear instead of the normal badge.

yup, i suppose tts it. no band prac until aft exams. sheesh my horn is gonna be so super stuck. arrggh.

the blog is very very dead. arrggh.

it hasnt been updated since 10 days ago.

open house - it was ok. there were some screwed up solos and other stuff but yup, we're all learning. diana came back to give us moral support. :) heh. and i got a burst blister from running all over the school promoting band. but its okay. at least ppl came to the band room and were interested in the (mainly perc) instru. dun blame them.. french horns are heavy and hard to play.

band prac yesterday was fun. had abt two hours of prac wif mr yap and then another mr yap came to teach us how to clean our instru. brass first ;) yup and the younger mr yap was our mr yap's ex student and he's a french hornist! so cool! he taught us how to unstuck stuck slides and keys and clean our instru but he has this weird habit of letting everyone see how dirty an instru is. makes us pass it around. and he taught our section how to restring our horn and he restrung rach's. and he gave us lots of freebies. haha. he gave our section horn string, the trumpets took his cotton buds and he gave yiyan a mouthpiece brush and a hammer. and when the trumpet section realised that he could reshape the end of the mouthpiece (you noe, the part that goes into the instru), they took out all their mouthpieces including those unused ones for him to reshape. yup, he was wif us for lyk until 5 smthng and in the end he didnt haf time for the woodwinds.

i've run out of ideas on what to write for now so yup tt all for today.

thank you so much for being a wonderful part of my memories of scband. all the lame stuff, all teh corny jokes, all the indeciveness etc. thanks for being such nice juniors and being so obedient and hardworking and understanding. and yes, i do need to apologise for abandoning you all so often. but i guess u all found some self amusement. haha. and yes sorry if i hadnt spent enough time with you all. and havent taught you all enough stuff. but do remember what i've told you and my naggings as well kae. haha i guess i havent done a very good job as SL, but yes, i do love this section a whole whole lot. and im so so proud of all of you. coz i think you have improved so much from ever since i took over the section. i think this french horns section rawks like mad. haha. continue to work hard and stay bonded kae. and please invite me to your section outings. ahha. yea, have a good time in band and enjoy yourselves, yes? but do work hard too and hahahahha play starwars by the end of sec4. or symphonic overture. lol. ok tts crazy. yea, and its been good "taking care" of you and see you grow up and change and improve. its been my pleasure to be your sl, and meiying pls take care of the section, and you all, pls take care of her. haha. and if you have any problems or some lame stuff or anything at all, i'll be here okay. to listen and help. haha yes. thanks thanks thanks. you dont know how much you all have been a joy to me. even though you contribute to my headache at times. but yes, it doesnt matter coz u're still as wonderful =)

we had our long-awaited section outing. met at the b2 fountain in taka and waited 1/2 an hour for meiying and rach to come cos there was a communication breakdown and they went to the wrong fountain. and yes, we had sushi at sakae at heeren again. this is the third time i tink but yup sakae is still good. after lunch we went shopping at far east for our socks and we bought 3 pairs of orange, 3 pairs of yellow and 6 sets of red shoe laces! cool.. and we're gonna swap colours tmr! and we took neoprints! then yeah, i left for tuition. so tts all im gonna write.

now, for today's.

reached school at 7.40 and packed the scores. oh and we found rach's friend in our section drawer. heh. left school at nine smthng and reached sentosa before ten. we then sat around until it was time for us to go to the musical fountain. kept our instru in a holding room and left for the beach.
first game: mass dance. damn funny. we kept laughing as we were hopping here and there.
second game: watermelon seed thingey. we were given half a watermelon per group and we had to eat the watermelon and spit out the seeds into a container. eww... and the seeds are edible so we ended up eating everything than leaving the seeds.
third game: ball. quite fun, yes but the wind dun lyk us.
oh then it was the sec 4s turn to get saboed. they played twisters (is it called twisters?) and erm yes... they had a tomato in their mouths and almost all their limbs and body parts and even the tomato touching a spot on the mat. poor diana. yes but we are nice hornies. we are nice to diana cos we helped her hold the tomato whenever she wanted and we took off the seaweed tt was thrown onto her. heh. and diana had a sore throat and jaw cos she couldnt close her mouth for a long time.
then finally, we all got wet in the sea. dragged in ppl who were still dry into the water and splashed seawater at them. ha sadist. and amanda went to get our lunch so she wasnt wet and we wanted to give her a nice wet hug.. but we didnt.
had lunch on the beach. ate fries, a burger and drank a cup of coke. we were cold and tired lah cos we were running around in the sea. went to bathe aft lunch. then we had soundcheck at the fountain.
at lyk 4.40 we went for dinner but yeah who actually eats dinner two hrs aft lunch? just bought drinks and sat around talking and diana was taking lots of weird photos of water smiley faces and etc.
went back to the fountain and had our perf at 6.30. it was quite nice, yes. had to cut disney cos it was already 7.15 aft we played rainbow. aft the perf we left for school but we left sentosa 20mins late.
reached school at nine and unpacked and emptied our instru. and mr jeow went around telling ppl "bye bye go home. see you in 10hrs time." and i was the last person in school but cheryl bong was nice enough to stay back wif me until my dad came. hehe thanks cheryl.

and that was the sentosa perf. the sec4s last perf with the band. yup..

and tmr is the handover...

WHY IS THE BLOG SO DEAD?!

fine im backk!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MEIYING!!!

Right. so, SECTION OUTING is set okay. 6th of AUG. we'll go late morning or afternoon k. then im gonna watch a concert at night. i'd be like dead by then. and we're gonna eat ice cream. and mochi ice cream. and rachel pok hui yi shall eat leaves. coz she really likes salad. i have a perfect idea for section outing. we can all come to my house and we'll make our salad. then we go out somewhere like grass area or smth and we can have a picnic! and of course we can bring our ice cream along as well. yes? im such a genius. ahhahaha.

i have a suggestion. go and change your fingerings. hahahha. yes yes i mean it. and, sometimes, a stuck trigger is good. at least it ensures that you wont be playing and not realising that ur trigger is only half pressed and u start producing weird noises -.- oh and realised. please go and retune all your horns. the right way. yay okay, i shall do some teaching again. people, start making some self discoveries please. meddle with your horns. haha

tired tired tired. yawn yawn yawn.

stale. hm... yup had band prac today and we finally played brazil.. ok i dun noe if they played it on fri cos i was sick and yeah, im not crazy over brazil.. its jus tt i havent played it since last year's concert. yups. and aft band prac mich chased the sec4s out so tt.. yah im not supposed to say much but the sec4s probably noe already so yeah.

and im the photocopying gurl.. hee so fun!

man this is so random.

im seriously running out of ideas wad to write. shall stop here.

oh, this friday is gonna be very impt and special to two ppl. *hint hint (but its kinda obvious dont you tink?)

PRESENTATION NIGHT!

heyys!

long time since i came here and leave a post. haha. feel super tired now.. aiyah shall just continue since i'm already here. yups.

went to watch presentation night today. it was super SUPER NICE! its like you're drowned in a super musical night. every performance was nice. though tj said they screw up but i still think it was nice la! i din know they screw up until like um yan told me. yups

i like the sax solo. the sound was so bright and nice and shiny. i shall strive to have a nice sound too! he'sso pro la! oh and i realise that the sax looks rather small for him. heehee. some clarinets also looked small on big guys playing them. looked like oboe but then when i looked at the bell, it was different. yup.

anyway, i had a pretty good seat at j 17. just that this guy, thinks that he looks nice with his hair on top of his head all gelled up. and since this guy is like taller than me, his head blocked part of my view. IN ADDITION to his hair, he blocked my whole view. i mean left view. so i could only see the conductor and those on the stage right. yups. iwanted very badly to pour water on his head to wash off the gel as well as to weigh his hair down so i can see more. see how short i am? so rach! you must grow taller!! being short is not good. hopefully, a few years down the road, it would be fashionable to be short. so that we don't have to be in such disadvantage. hahas. tt's lame and random.

kk.. i shall sleep now. its rather late and i will blog more often um soon. yup
