hello ppl its me.. again

had sectionals aft school today... meiying and amanda couldnt come early. heh. chromatic scales =P diana was quite horrified.. had lotsa fun holding notes for 30 seconds.. me died lyk aft 20 secs and diana's record is 32 secs. wow. tried holding high A for 5 secs and arrggh dun wan to even say how the sound sounds lyk.

me and rach left at 3.30pm and diana said tt she had something to do and told us (actually only claire lah cos rach and i were leaving soon) tt she'll be back within 30mins... heh diana. why did u end up three bus stops away from school with another fellow hornist? hm..

very random entry. eh rach u havent blogged for some time already hor. today is the last day of june. tmr is july. heh. and next wk friday is the first day of maddcap. *shivers*

'ello ppl.

haiz.. me very tired now. arrggh. i cant stand khoo audi lah... dunno why they must put that rubber mat on the stage floor to absorb our sound. blasted lyk crazy and still cannot be heard.

sectionals aft band was erm... i dunno? my lips and cheeks died already lah so couldnt play during sectionals. bad. played abrams with meiying and diana was complaining tt we forgot our accents again. sheesh. and our next generation of hornies had a wonderful time trying to figure out the fingerings for abrams. hehe. oh, and we saw and tried diana's exam pieces and wow.. they're scary. i mean it. especially the gimps one.

school is reopening in wad.. three days time. still cant believe tt 4 wks passed so quickly. time to finish hols hw.

heyy ppl. finally im here again..

ehh the khoo audi really absorbs alot alot of our sound. volume. absorbs the shine too. so yeaa. try to play louder. and of crs must play clearlyy.. not so fuzzy and got tt funny residue sound. and since our bell is facing the back right, it makes things worse. projection wise i mean. soo, here's a very good suggestion for all of us. hahaha.

we'll all lift up our horns when we play all the time.

i mean no need to lift so high all the time la. just lift. so the bell will face the side, instead of to the back and face our err body, stomach? haha. yea lift ahh!! better train ur arm. haha quite tiring one.

and and, AIR AIR!! breathe in more air each time. like a HIPPO. haha. u need air! ok, and try not to force so much kae. dont use too much of ur lips. PULL BACK YOUR THROAT. coz forced notes really sounds quite ehrm not pleasant to the ears. and use your tongue ppl. aye and alot of other stuff la. can u pls recall what i keep telling you during sectionals. must applyy kae. and be more conscious of what u're playing.

ok dont ask me why i suddenly write all these funny stuff. coz they're necessary la of crs. hmm muz play with the correct techniques.. or else next time u end up like me. hahha. and its not gd to end up like me. lol.

fine. i shall stop nagging here. SECTIONALS tmr after band? say yes? yes. thankew. ahha can or not? anyone who reads this sms me to reply kae. and would you pls kindly help me pass down the msg to the rest? thanks. theankew very much.

and and. oei i cannot hear all the repeated high notes quavers for abram's la. haha you all bully me ah, make me play =P jkjk.

haha. i'm damn tired but damn awake now. um that dun make sense. i shall explain...

i din sleep on sunday until like yesterday when i reached home. din sleep on sunday cuz it was like 12 plus already and i know i wun wake up on time if i sleep so might as well not sleep right? hahaha. so i died quite a lot of times yesterday. yup.
then yesterday when i reached home after walking around taka to look for somehting to buy with 1,2 and chara, i dropped dead on my bed at 5.45 pm and slept until 8 am just now. hahahas.

urgh. homework still unfinished. but about 80% done. yaye. though its not a great achievement cuz school's reopening soon and um i'm suppose to have finished my homework like 2 weeks ago. hahahaha. yeah haven't started revising for anything yet. sighh.


i doubt i can wake up for school when school starts cuz um apparently i have purposely messed up my biological clock. you will be seeing me sleeping in class again. aiyah. the cycle before school hols' repetiting itself again. haha. sleep late cuz cun finish homework that was procrastinated then sleep in class cuz too tired cuz slept late the night before.

studying, here i come. eeeeeeee....

whee.. hello.

went for the acjc concert wif diana and sam lee... very nice.. heh. they played nice pieces.. oh and there's this part where the percs played kiddy songs... very cute!!! lyk elmo's world, barney's i luv u u luv me, loony toons theme song, the macdonald advertisement plus some others that i cant remember... and guess wad. the imperial march. NOTE: meiying and/or yan, if u're reading this... u can start laughing now... heh.. imagine darth *ahem* nvm..

but anywae, the concert was gd... diana made me laugh lyk crazy bcos she *ahem*... starting screaming how much she lurvs -blank- b4 we left to find the seniors.. haha damn funny.

*sigh* too bad meiying wasn't around.. *sniff*

yay... diana is finally back... happy :) at least its no longer 4 2nds to 1 1st.. and meiying dislikes this three letter acronym (sp?) "tsl"..

this is getting very stale... heh.

survived the first day of long prac w/o diana.. quite okay lah.. had sectionals for 4hrs.. sabo meiying.. tsl for the day. but she did a gd job.. *gives meiying a round of applause*

had lunch at waffle town wif nic and xinya.. meiying and yiyan got to stay at school for biotech and eunice 2 was sick.. snif

then had combined for 2hrs.. star of dreams beginning sounds so out of tune.. arrgghh. played omens and got most of the rhythm correct. yay.

i guess tts all. cant wait for diana to come back.. bye

heyy again! ok, here comes the recount of today.

ACJC Band Tune In =D

well, lectures ended super early somehow its really just a waste of time. yup then we went to acjc for tune in. there was games and all in the morning, all the super lame but fun games and my group was laughing non stop la. and my group leaders are seriously hilarious and yahh lame and whatever other words there are la. and some attempted match making session. hurrr. yea but it was fun =)

had lunch with the french horn section and i dunno how many of us there were la. 15 mebbe. wah the section is madd. like crazy. haah and of crs that makes everything even more fun!

ok then comes the hmm exciting part. combined band prac. there were like. i dunno. 150 of us? more than that? it was such a hugeeee band. HUGE. yea. almost impossible to tune and balance. what, 21 trumpets and 14 horns? madness. and goodness knows how many trombones. and clarinets and flutes wahh uncountable alr la. but now i really know what is meant by a full sound. when we played concert Bb. yea everything was so loud. very loud. at the beginning. i could hardly hear myself with the volume i usually play in sc band, where i can hear myself so super well i hear the slightest mispitch i make. haha. so of crs play louder la. but then everyone just had to tone down la. or else everyone will just go deaf.

and then, the pieces we playeddd! haha. you see, you all will go "hahhhh, shit there's a high G" when i giv u some score w a high G in it. and you thought the random Ab here and there in abram's and tt one Bb could kill. wait till you see the score i played today. High High C okay. and not like one random C smowhere but it was all over the place. high A is such a common sight, needless to say G. its like, aiyah only G. haha. and those notes are like in some v tiring part of the piece. it was only about 2hrs plus prac and i played high notes until really want to die. and i thought playing 2nd horn wont be so bad. who knows, 1st n 2nd equally high. hurr. but one good thing is, can just blast, coz everyone else are loud too.

ok tts the high-ness of the notes. and now running notes. Symphonic Overture. seriously, just press ur valves and blow man. and we were all sight reading, and that piece is almost impossible to play with sight reading. but it's a really nice piece. very challenging, splattered with high high Cs and other high notes and crazy running notes and dunno what, but it was really fun to play it. really got to concentrate man. yea ok and we played GR Selections and this 2 marches and The Multitude with One Voice Spoke. very nice pieces with interesting horn parts. really nice ones.

yea anw that is just to tell you all what happened la. next time any of you get a chance to go for any tune in in sec4, must go okay. it's really really a good experience and exposure. coz it's really different. to play in such a big band. play pieces with that level of difficulty and having to sight read it. yes, very good sight reading experience and really tests how well u can sight read. yea it really challenges and motivates you to practise in some ways la. sitting next to some pro playerr. now thinking abt it, pieces like soar and star or whatever we are playing is really quite simple compared to all these pieces the JC bands play.

so if u intend to continue with band in jc, pls start NOW. and yes better continue w band. practise ur high notes. if you wait till sec4 like me before u start ahh, later u'll be struggling. haha yea. practisee ppl.

hmmm tune in was great la. esp combined prac. =D




anyway, practise hard and play well when im not around childrenn.. i'll be back to see you again on hmm 16th or 17th. dont miss me too much haha. *mmwahh!*

hello...

haiz nobody seems to be blogging now. heh. dead.

currently having our 1 wk break from band... going back for band prac in less than a wk's time... me wan to play abrams.

i seriously dunno wad to write.. brain freeze

supposed to be doing hw now... still got english bk review, maths and 3 projects to complete. arrgghh... hols dun seem lyk hols anymore especially when teachers are being sadistic and give u so much hw. but, i shouldn't be complaining... there are ppl who got more hw than me.
